Refund policy

At Type R Performance, we specialise in quality new and used automotive parts. As for the second-hand parts, normal wear, marks, and cosmetic imperfections may be present. Please read this policy carefully before purchasing.

Used Parts Condition

For the used parts, cosmetic wear such as scratches and minor marks is considered normal. Parts are tested where possible, however professional installation is strongly recommended. It is the customer’s responsibility to confirm compatibility before purchasing.

No Returns for Change of Mind or Incorrect Purchase

We do not accept returns for change of mind, ordering the wrong item, incorrect fitment due to customer error, or if the part is no longer required. Customers must ensure the part is correct before completing their purchase.

Faulty or Incorrect Items Supplied

If we have supplied the wrong item or the part is faulty, you must notify us within 48 hours of delivery. Photos and supporting information may be required to assess the issue. Once assessed, we will provide a replacement, refund, or repair the faulty item.

Non-Returnable Items

Electrical components including ECUs, sensors, modules, and wiring looms are non returnable unless faulty. Custom or special order items, clearance or discounted items, and parts damaged due to incorrect installation are also non returnable.

30 Day Start Up Warranty for Engines and Gearboxes

Engines and gearboxes are covered by a 30 day start up warranty from the date of delivery. This warranty covers major internal mechanical faults only and is limited to the replacement of the engine or gearbox or a refund at our discretion.

The warranty does not cover labour costs, fluids, gaskets, seals, timing components, clutches, external accessories, electrical components, turbochargers, or any damage caused by overheating, misuse, neglect, or improper installation.

The engine or gearbox must be installed by a qualified mechanic. Proof of professional installation may be required. The customer must ensure new oil, filters, timing components where applicable, and all required service items are replaced prior to operation. Failure to follow correct installation procedures will void the warranty.

Any claim must be reported within the 30 day period. The engine or gearbox must not be dismantled or tampered with prior to assessment unless authorised by us in writing.

Refund Process

Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method once the item has been returned and inspected. Shipping costs are non refundable and the customer is responsible for the shipping costs associated with returning the defective part. Labour costs and any additional expenses are not covered.
